I’ll be hiking in Asia for about 2 months this Fall.
Where should I go?
Hong Kong is my home away from home in Asia. I’ve hiked there before …
Tim Cheung just posted the best article I’ve seen yet on hiking Hong Kong:
… Tourism campaigns for Hong Kong rarely champion its hiking trails and yet 300 kilometers of designated trails, varying in length and difficulty, traverse the territory and many locals hike religiously.
To really experience Hong Kong get out to one of the four major hiking trails: the MacLehose Trail, Wilson Trail, Hong Kong Trail or Lantau Trail.

Nepal! Figure out WTF is happening on the Annapurna Circuit, and see how easy/hard it is to get into Dolpo/Mustang w/o hiring porter/guides.
… I just might do that.
Oct/Nov in the Himalayas is tempting …
That Dragons Back Trail looks amazing too.

A few years ago I visited Hong Kong and was pleasantly surprised to find that there are walking opportunities there. Hong Kong is a far bigger than the bustling city where all the sky scrapers are. I took a short boat trip to Lamma Island where there is an easy, purpose built hiking trail. It meanders across the island, going up hills, through vegetation and small fishing villages. You can really get away from it all there. There were lots of warning signs about dengue fever, so you definitely need insect repellent.
