I’m sorry to say that my own pack, the Granite Gear Virga (VIDEO), did not make his list. He did choose it a number of years ago – best gear of the past 5 years.

  1. This is a surprisingly good list. In any of my purchases, for home, work, or recreation, I struggle to find products with the LEAST number of “features”. With a few exceptions, I hate “features”. Skurka and I used the Golite Jam on an 8 day transit of the Sierra High Route, I’ve chucked it on top of Peruvian busses, and it still looks the same.

    OTOH, The list referenced on the Adventure Blog looks like it was written in the mid-80’s.
