Lost City Trek, Colombia

Jessica Crump of GetUp&GoFilms sends us a link to a movie trip report.

Without question this is one of the best hikes in the world. In Spanish it’s called Ciudad Perdida.

5 days, 50 kilometers, Mountains, Jungle, Rivers…

Discover the sacred city of Tayuna in the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta Colombia.

I was there about 15yrs-ago. Seems very little has changed.

  1. If one might get kidnapped or killed as the webpage indicates, I’m not sure why “Columbia is a wonderful country”, or why it would be considered “one of the best hikes in the world.” I was robbed at gunpoint in Bolivia, in broad daylight at 12,500′, and did not find that enjoyable.

    1. I did the hike, Buzz. In the much more dangerous 1990s.

      It was fantastic.

Best of all were the local people, so happy to have us tourists visit their beautiful country.

In Bolivia I had 2 attempted robberies. Overally, I think Bolivia is the more dangerous of the two.
