For some time our top 10 links have been “broken”, the result of our web host having been “hacked” in the past.
Those should all be fixed now. Merry Christmas.
This is the best starting point for those planning a future trekking vacation.

Laugavegur, Iceland ???
Laugavegur. Great call.
… I spent all Summer trying to get there from Europe. Could not get a reasonable air fare during high season.
Promise to get there soon. Perhaps it will replace one of the top 10.

I think you need more categories… how about best day hikes? I nominate Zion Canyon Narrows and Half Dome!
We do have some day hikes on our list of the best hikes in the World, Jim.
Both Zion Narrows and Half Dome are included.

Make a classification like:
1. day walk = between 3 1/2 and 6 hours real walking-time.
2. weekend walk = 2-3 days
( see e.g. the book:
Coastal walks around Britain; 15 magnificent weekend walks
Andrew McCloy )
3. week walk = about 5 days walking
(this is done by most touroperators.
If you talk about the best week section of a long distance trail in stead of the complete trail, you get a more homogeneous product and of much higher quality
Thanks Piet. Almost all of our hikes are multi-day. The day hikes are few, but excellent.
We appreciate the input.
Scotland, of course!
