Fantastic hiking areas include:

• Strathcona Provincial Park, BC <guidebook>
• Banff / Canmore, Alberta
• Waterton National Park, Alberta

Of those I haven’t done, top of my list is Long Range Traverse, Gros Morne, Newfoundland.
