  1. Rick, Thanks for sharing this video. We vacation in Maple City. Our property is nestled into the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Park, bordered by the park on our west and north sides. Not really a through-hiker’s paradise, but beautiful nature, nonetheless. Those blues and greens, the mixed hardwoods and conifers, and the crystal clear water are all for real. On the mainland, find many wonderful trails or make your way off-trail through wilderness. When the ferries are running again, there is great overnight wilderness backpacking on the Manitou Islands. A few years ago, viewers of ABC’s Good Morning America voted the Sleeping Bear Dunes the “Most Beautiful Place in America.” I know there will be lots of debate about that, but it is no doubt in the discussion, and still little known for it. Thanks for all your posts! Doug
