confirmed – hiking in Japan

by best hike editor Rick McCharles

I fly to Tokyo September 22nd and have up to 2 months in Japan.

I’ve already got Lonely Planet Japan as a travel guidebook. But I’m thinking of buying Lonely Planet Hiking in Japan as a PDF. ($17.49)

I can do that via LonelyPlanet.com

In that way I don’t need to carry another heavy book. And I can SEARCH for and follow the guidebook on my iTouch.

Will this work?

Are the maps readable as PDF files?

  1. I bought the Lonely Planet New Zealand a few weeks ago. Beautiful, especially on my iPad. My Amazon purchase allows me to put it on all of my “Kindle” devices, which is nice, because we now have it on our 3G Kindle, and my iPad. Maps are excellent. I miss not being able to stick little coloured tabs on my fav. pages…. Also impossible to flip/scan through 100’s (er, 1000’s of pages).
