Haha, I totally agree. And another thing people may not realize is that for a bigger person or a broader chested person. The external frame can be the most comfortable pack for them.
When I was a young lad I had an uncomfortable external frame rucksack and was exceptionally pleased to trade up to a Karrimor with an internal frame. The internal frame pack is much more comfortable but it squeaks when I walk!
It must be said that some of the rucksacks in the Gear Junkie’s article do look more comfortable than my old external frame pack…maybe they should call the external frame an “exo-skeleton”…its sounds more high tech!
