In Gainesville for business, I contacted Florida hiking guru Sandra Friend for some local advice.
Hiking gurus hate this question: “What are the best hikes?”
The answer, of course, is “… it depends“.

I expected to see the Florida Trail up on the list, and was pleased to see it wasn’t. I tried a section of it once. Would have worked well in a canoe, but not good on foot.
