beautiful Mt Sanqingshan, China

Mount Sanqingshan National Park was recently added to the World Heritage List.

The photos are beautiful.

… a unique array of forested, fantastically shaped granite pillars and peaks …

It has some crazy cliffside pathways similar to those of Mount Hua (Hua Shan).

  1. Beautiful shots, both here and on the Flickr link.

I also looked at your Huashan entry. I’ve been intrigued by Huashan for many, many years, and I’m considering a visit to China in a year or two that will include hiking Huashan.

  2. I’ve spent about 5 months in China, Hong Kong and Macao, John.

It’s still a hassle to travel on the mainland.

Best is a short, very specific destination, trip.

  3. I don’t like travel hassles! I spent over a year traveling in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa in the mid-1980s, including time in Czechoslovakia and Poland.

I prefer to travel in countries with reasonably efficient and honest bureaucracies, and where I can get reasonably healthy food.

However, I’m definitely interested in China, and especially Huashan, so maybe I’ll just have to deal with any difficulties.
