hiking the Great Wall of China

It’s not yet on our list of the best hikes in the world. But … someday.

Hiking in China we still do not recommended … unless you speak Mandarin.

Of course you can sign on with dozens of different hiking tours of the Great Wall. But what if you really want to hike independently?

The Rucksack guide is your best bet.

  1. Interesting,
As a Taiwanese, who of course speaks Mandrain, I’ve learned and heard so many stories about the Great Wall; however, hiking the Great Wall is never appealing to me. Probably because there’s so many other places in China I want to explore.

I’ve been at the far west end of the Great Wall also been to one of the branches, the construction was amazing. but couldn’t stop thinking how many people died and how many families were broken because of this.
