The most important advice I could give is to take off your hiking boots during breaks so your feet can dry out. Wet feet is a major cause of blisters. If I get a blister I usually pop them using a needle. It is usually recommended against but I just want the pain to go away instead of having to deal with moleskin. However, a popped blister can get infected if you are not careful so make sure to keep it clean.
Make sure to wear a hiking boot or shoe that has good breathability like the Mens Vasque Breeze GTX Hiking Boot which will help to keep blisters at bay.
