a) The lawsuit is primarily about false and misleading statements, not the benefits or problems of barefoot
b) One of the misleading statements is that VFFs are “just like barefoot” (when the few studies testing them show that they’re not).
c) No serious barefoot runner thinks that VFFs = barefoot, so any condemnation of VFFs says nothing about barefoot (check out Ken Bob’s book, Barefoot Running Step-by-step, where he has a whole chapter about why VFFs do not = barefoot.
