I’ve started by researching the Havasupai Trail. It leads to Navajo Falls, Havasupai Falls and Mooney Falls.
WOW.
Looks great. But I hear it’s a bit touristy.

The Adventure Life – much bigger version of Havasupai (Havasu) Falls

Havasupai is a beautiful location that is definitely worth hiking down to. It’s true that it can get pretty crowded down there, and that helicopters can take non-hikers deep into the canyon, but it’s still worth seeing. If you hike past Mooney Falls, you can actually get a bit of solitude, too.

I strongly advise against Havasupai. It’s the Disneyland of hikes. Helicopters buzzing about throughout the entire day dropping off tourists. No hiking skills necessary. We were lucky to find a tiny area for a tent, no privacy at all. And getting to the waterfalls involves going through a tunnel that we had to queue for. The waterfalls are beautiful, but the hiking experience is not what you bargain for. There are so many beautiful hikes in the Southwest with solitude, try Chesler Park in Canyonlands, or Buckskin Gulch in the Paria Wilderness to name a few.
