I’m shopping for a pack for my first adventure race.
One option:
4. Inov-8 Race Pro 12
Dubbed an “elite lightweight hydration pack,” the Race Pro 12 was made for trail running, mountain biking, adventure racing and similar pursuits. I ran with this 12-liter pack loaded during multiple races last season, and it stayed solid and comfortable. The kicker is its horizontal hydration bladder, which minimizes bouncing while on the run. $105
The pack weighs less than a pound when empty (15.5 ounces), and has a nice harness system that hugs when you run.

Leave a comment if you have any other pack under 1lb to recommend. I would use it for day hiking, as well.

Congrats on the first race Rick! Should be fun! It’s hard to go against the Gear Junkie, as that seems to be a pretty nice pack, but I also like gear from GoLite, like their “Rush” pack or the Osprey “Talon” is pretty nice as well.
